A region rich in history
The Hunter Valley is a region rich in culture. Rothbury is one of hundreds of fascinating towns dotted around the Hunter Valley, each with their own stories and history. From the early settlers and convict builders, right through to the Wonnarua, the people of the hills and plains, who have lived here for over 30,000 years.
The region quickly built a reputation for quality wine production. A number of winemakers made their mark and built up the region’s reputation across Australia’s metro cities.
The land at ARIA was the location of the legendary Lindeman’s Summer Vineyard one of the original vineyards planted to Semillon. More recently, the ARIA site was used by Balloon Aloft with decades of sightseers taking to the morning skies.
